Gila Monster

The Gila Monster is the only venomous lizard native to the United States. They are found in the southwestern United States and the northwestern state of Sonora in Mexico.

They get their name from the Gila River Basin in New Mexico and Arizona.

Gila Monsters can get up to 2 feet long and weigh 5 pounds.

Here’s a quick video from National Geographic Wild about Gila Monsters!
